The Cross, Dove and Flags

Bill Anderson of Revival FM asked me to explain the connection between Holy Socks
and rallying - I managed to do it, but I think this Holy Sock does it better.
We had great debate over whether to put the flags above the cross bar, as with the
earlier version of this design, or change it and put the dove above the bar.
In the end, the majority thought the dove, the symbol of the Holy Spirit should
sit above the flags but I can still make a case for the ealier design we have on size 12 ..1/2 - 3.. 1/2
The actual Cross that is at the centre of this design probably needs a bit of explanation.
It was a gift to me when karting became my "area of service" - part of the
Training for Learning and Serving course with The Scottish Churches Open College.
The top of the crossbar fitted the nuts of the back wheels of the kart
and the bottom fitted the front wheel nuts.
I used to give the wheelnuts a ceremonial turn with the "wheelbrace cross" before
I went out on the track.
We've added the chequered flags and the dove to make a great sporting cross design -
A brilliant design and the perfect verse for anyone taking part in motorsport or
indeed for anyone involved in any sport but since it's a Biblical verse, that's only
the starting point and the writings that go along with this design expand on the
preceeding Biblical verses.
